Since the mid-1980s, José Papo Rivera has been one of the leading salsa and tropical music recording artists in the industry.

Born into a middle-class family in Patterson, New Jersey, Rivera grew up listening to the sounds of nearby New York radio stations, his grandfather introduced him to the Christian life and all that it had to offer.

Inspired by the new life he had found in Christ, he spent the next 16 years preaching and singing across the country, earning a reputation as a salsa vocalist unparalleled in any part of Christian music.
